Saturday Nov 13th in a small town in rural Illinois the sight of Old glory lined the streets and was in everyone's hands. The sounds of motorcycles echoed through the cool brisk air as the Patriot Guard riders came to town to help say goodbye to Staff Sgt Jordon Emrick who Died while serving in the Marines in Afghanistan. He was part of the EOD and was killed by a road side bomb as his squad was patrolling. Thankfully we did not hear the sounds of hate echoing through the air from the so called Church of Wesburo Kansas as they did not show up for whatever reason. I had the Honor of sounding those 24 notes for the Hometown Hero. It was an awe inspiring sight to see everyone come out to help support the family. Some came from over 100 miles away and didn't even know anyone there. Staff Sgt. Jordan Emrick :"Taps" has been sounded signifying the end of the day. Rest in Peace young Soldier your duty is done. We will meet again one day that I am sure of. Here is a link to the Channel 5 News video:
