We are pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Don Ware as the new State Director in Georgia. Mr. Ray Tanner will remain on as Assistant Director, and BAA is very indebted to Ray for his leadership for the last two years. For the last two years, Don Ware has been Asst. This team of buglers has been working closely with the National Guard, perfoming approximately 3,000 services in the last two years. Don is a former police officer of 8 years, the father of 7 children, ranging in ages from 5 to 23. His son is currently serving in the US Marine Corps, and his oldest daughter is at the University of Mississippi. A friend of mine who is also an aircraft maintenance technician, called me last evening to inform me that one of his close friends passed away suddenly on Sunday, and asked if we could support his Military Funeral Honors with a live bugler. I not only accomodated his request, but I made some calls, and made sure that this gentleman receives Full Honors.

As a National Coordinator, I have had the priviledge and honor of knowing Mr. Hartmut Hausser for several years now. Although we have not formally met, my wife Susan(The Tribute Lady) and I have spoken to him by phone and email, so many times that we feel like he is one of our family. He is indeed one of our BAA family members, and his love and devotion to our Nation, to both honor our troops, and to take care of them at Landsthul, is beyond description. Below is a wonderful letter of commendation from Major David Kirk, US Army; one of many that we have received, honoring our brother Hartmut, former German paratrooper himself.

Bugler Ted Johnson will be at DFW National Cemetery in Dallas beginning Monday June 6, and every Monday through the summer this year. Ted will be there with a few of his students sounding live Taps over the recorded version that is played. If you are a new bugler in the DFW area, or have not been to the DFW Cemetery, this is a perfect opportunity to see how a service is handled there and you can get involved. Please let me know which Monday you would like to go to the Cemetery so Ted can help coordinate the buglers. The Cemetery is located at 2000 mountain creek parkway, Dallas, 75211. The first service generally starts at 9 am with the last service starting at 3 pm. My email is texasbugler@aol.com and Ted's is tjhorn@aol.com . This is a perfect chance to get involved in your community! Communication is the key, you will need to let Ted and myself know what day you would like to come, so we do not have an over abundance of players milling about. Thanks !!...

Hello! I am the Wisconsin State Director for BAA and I am asking for your help!

I would like horn players to help with a Rolling again this year.  Please respond to me and let me know you can come! Bring a friend that plays or just bring a friend! I am hoping to do this 3 times this year! May (Armed Forces Day) Aug (End of WW2) and Sept (Sept.11th). This will all be done in Milwaukee unless someone wants to do one elsewhere.  We will be meeting at Wood National Cemetery at 10am and performing at 11am.  Please let me know and I will get more info!

Thank you!!

Saturday Nov 13th in a small town in rural Illinois the sight of Old glory lined the streets and was in everyone's hands. The sounds of motorcycles echoed through the cool brisk air as the Patriot Guard riders came to town to help say goodbye to Staff Sgt Jordon Emrick who Died while serving in the Marines in Afghanistan. He was part of the EOD and was killed by a road side bomb as his squad was patrolling. Thankfully we did not hear the sounds of hate echoing through the air from the so called Church of Wesburo Kansas as they did not show up for whatever reason. I had the Honor of sounding those 24 notes for the Hometown Hero. It was an awe inspiring sight to see everyone come out to help support the family. Some came from over 100 miles away and didn't even know anyone there. Staff Sgt. Jordan Emrick :"Taps" has been sounded signifying the end of the day. Rest in Peace young Soldier your duty is done. We will meet again one day that I am sure of.
